Words can be descriptive, simple, annoying or enjoying. It is the different words that we use to describe something or someone which helps change the perception of people around you. It is the use of different words which affects or creates a change in a persons thinking around you. No matter how hard an individuals exterior may appear and no matter how good a person is able to conceal his emotions, even the hardest of persons experience pain because of words.

Words are incredibly powerful. Words are so powerful that they can be used as weapons or bring great joy - it just depends on how they are delivered. We often underestimate the power our words have on others. We say things without thinking how it will affect someone else and can end up hurting them when we did not intend to. There are other times when we purposely say things with the intent to hurt somone, usually because we ourselves are hurt. Choice of words creates impression. Impression about the person that utters those words. Selection of spiteful words speaks volumes of the personality and attitude of the person. Passing comments on people can hinder the growth potential and mar someone's incentive and motivation forever. So it is important to use appropriate words with a proper approach at the right time.

The old cliche "think before you speak" holds a lot of truth. You can choose to speak wisely and know that you've made someone's light shine and in turn they will pass that gift on to someone else. Or you can choose to use your words as weapons. Words are a means of learning thoughts while thoughts a means of learning life. I believe, words are a form of action, capable of influencing the biggest of change. Now it all depends upon you what words you speak.

Watch your thoughts, for they become words.
Watch your words, for they become actions.
Watch your actions, for they become habits.
Watch your habits, for they become character.
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.
